Cheap Fakes

Today we met 3 members of the 7-piece band Cheap Fakes at a media call promoting Boulevard Sounds at Cavill in Surfers Paradise. An acoustic rendition with less than half the band of one of their hit songs ‘Sand on the beach’ still gave a great teaser of the catchy fresh sound and style of this accomplished band.

Gold Coast Music Awards

 

The red carpet was rolled out along the beach side of Surfers Paradise for the Gold Coast Music Awards. Emm caught up with some of the finalists before the award ceremony and live entertainment on the big stage.

Child Abuse Awareness Week

 

Here is a recap of a week with many challenges and triumphs. The first challenge was a ‘Pedal Against Child Abuse' in which Damien Rider Athlete rode a 100kg 1950’s Rickshaw 260km from Noosa to Surfers Paradise.

 

The second was a ‘Push Against Child Abuse’ in which Damien and supporters pushed a 2 tonne ute from Surfers Paradise to Coolangatta. The third challenge was a ‘Paddle Against Child Abuse’ in which Damien and a group of supporters paddled from Coolangatta to Currumbin.
