Cheap Fakes
​
Today we met 3 members of the 7-piece band Cheap Fakes at a media call promoting Boulevard Sounds at Cavill in Surfers Paradise. An acoustic rendition with less than half the band of one of their hit songs ‘Sand on the beach’ still gave a great teaser of the catchy fresh sound and style of this accomplished band.

Varsity Rocks On was a heartwarming afternoon that brought together community in a vibrant celebration of nostalgia, food, and entertainment. The event showcased classic cars, rock n roll music, dancers, and food trucks with various cuisines and ice cream. The event not only showcased timeless treasures and community spirit, but enhanced the lives of elderly residents, making it a meaningful and memorable occasion for everyone involved.

The 2025 Entrepreneurs Forum was an event filled with valuable stories, innovative ideas, and a dynamic atmosphere. Speakers Jane Lu, Ian Cragg, Luke Altschwager, and MC Kendall Gilding provided insights and shared their experiences regarding their entrepreneurial journeys. The event was hosted by Young Professionals Gold Coast, an advocacy and networking group on the coast since 2010. The group focuses on enhancing the city’s corporate culture and provides access to networking events and opportunities for mentorship and business development.

Aussie cricket legend Usman Khawaja and the Usman Khawaja Foundation teamed up with SSI to bring one of Australia’s most iconic sports to the heart of Logan at a special cricket clinic for students at Woodridge North State School. For many of the 100+ students, most from diverse backgrounds, it was their first time picking up a bat and connecting with this beloved part of Australian culture.
